Uptown Sedona is the historic walkable district at the north end of town — half a mile of art galleries, southwestern restaurants, jeep tour offices, ice cream parlors, and the famous Sedona Trolley stop. Staying in Uptown Sedona means you can leave the rental car parked and stroll to dinner, browse Native American jewelry shops in the morning, and catch the Pink Jeep at your door for the afternoon — the kind of self-contained day that turns a long weekend into a real holiday.
Uptown sits at the mouth of Oak Creek Canyon, so most properties here look directly up at Snoopy Rock, Camel Head, and the layered limestone cliffs that frame the highway north to Flagstaff. Trail access is excellent: Soldier Pass and the Brins Mesa trailheads are within five minutes by car, and Tlaquepaque Arts Village is a fifteen-minute walk south along the creek.
Uptown rentals run a touch higher than West Sedona on a per-night basis ($280–$650/night) because of the walkability premium, but you'll more than make it back on rideshares, parking fees, and the simple convenience of being able to walk home from dinner. Inventory is limited — only a handful of true Uptown homes ever come on market — so book at least 60 days out for spring and fall weekends.
