The Chapel area sits on a low ridge between Uptown Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek, named for the Chapel of the Holy Cross — Marguerite Brunswig Staude's 1956 modernist landmark wedged into the red rocks off Chapel Road. Staying in the Chapel area puts you in some of Sedona's quietest, most scenic residential streets, with direct sightlines to Bell Rock, Twin Buttes, and the dramatic Madonna and Nuns formations.

From here it's a five-minute drive to either Uptown (10 minutes north on 179) or the Village (10 minutes south), and the Little Horse trailhead — gateway to Chicken Point, Mushroom Rock, and the Chapel back-door route — is within walking distance of most properties. Tlaquepaque, the Spanish-style arts village, is three minutes north.

Chapel-area homes tend to be larger (3–5 bedrooms is common), more architecturally distinctive, and on bigger lots than the densely-packed Uptown core. Expect $320–$780/night for these properties. Many include hot tubs, fire pits, and the kind of red-rock window views that justify the entire trip.
