Tortas de Fuego
Tortas de Fuego is the casual Mexican counter in West Sedona — tortas (Mexican pressed sandwiches), tacos, burritos, and aguas frescas. Fast, generous, family-run, and the cheapest dinner-out option that still feels like a meal. The locals' weeknight default for Mexican when you are not in the mood for the Elote wait or the Molé reservation.
Why we send guests here
In West Sedona, five minutes from most of our rentals. A no-frills Mexican counter-service spot that has built a fierce local following for one reason — the tortas, Mexican pressed sandwiches on telera rolls, are the best version in northern Arizona. Order the carne asada torta or the al pastor torta with extra pineapple, and the elote en vaso (corn cup with mayo, chile, lime, cotija) as a side. The tacos are above-average, the burritos are huge, the aguas frescas (horchata, jamaica, tamarindo) are made fresh daily. When to go: any night for a casual cheap dinner; lunch is faster. Open late by Sedona standards (9 PM most nights). $10–$18 per person. Family-run, cash and card, plastic patio chairs and Mexican soccer on the TV. The everyday-Mexican spot for guests who want flavour and don't need ambience. Doubles as the easy late-arrival dinner when you check in past 7 PM.
