Molé Restaurant
Molé is the quieter, fine-dining Mexican alternative to Elote — a small Uptown room focused on regional Mexican cooking with a serious tequila and mezcal program. Easier to book than Elote, more ambitious in plating, and our pick for guests who want Mexican that feels like a special-occasion dinner without the Elote wait list. Reservations recommended.
Why we send guests here
Tucked into Uptown Sedona — twelve minutes from our West Sedona properties. Authentic Mexican fine dining with an emphasis on the seven traditional moles of Oaxaca; the kitchen rotates them through the menu seasonally and the sampler plate is the way to taste several at once. Order the mole negro over a duck breast if it is on the night you visit; the chiles en nogada (when in season, late summer) is one of the best plates in town. The tequila and mezcal program is the deepest in Sedona — the staff will walk you through a flight if you ask. When to go: any night you want fine-dining Mexican without competing for an Elote table. Reservations recommended, especially Friday and Saturday. $60–$90 per person before drinks. The room is intimate and warm, dress is smart-casual, and the service is unhurried in the right way. Pair with a vortex sunset on the way back.
