Cucina Rustica is Lisa Dahl's Italian fine-dining room in the Village of Oak Creek — a Tuscan-styled space with hand-painted murals, a wood-fired oven, and a serious wine list. The Italian counterpoint to Mariposa, with the same level of polish and a slightly more romantic dining room. The pairing menu is the move for a longer evening.
Why we send guests here
In the Village of Oak Creek, ten minutes from our SR-179-side rentals. Northern Italian with regional Italian breadth — handmade pasta, wood-fired pizzas at the casual end, a serious meat and seafood program at the entrée end. The room is the headline almost as much as the food: hand-painted murals, exposed beams, a fireplace, and lighting that flatters everyone at the table. Order the wild mushroom pappardelle and the osso buco; the lobster ravioli is a long-running favourite for a reason. When to go: any night a special dinner is in order — anniversary, milestone birthday, a long catch-up with friends. Reservations recommended, especially Friday and Saturday. $70–$110 per person before wine. The wine list runs deep on Italian regions you don't see on most Arizona menus; the sommelier will pair if you ask. Sister restaurant to Mariposa and Pisa Lisa, so the kitchen lineage is excellent.
